The REVENGE of the RETURN of the FAMOUS MYSTERIOUS ACTOR!

After some false starts, broken promises, and crocodile tears, the Famous Mysterious Actor troupe has re-formed in the firey forge of the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, where their antics alternately amused and confused attendees. I am proud to leak on the Internet that they are staging an amazing comeback at Berbati's Pan on June 4th! They're Trying To Drive Me Mad!

I try to maintain a certain level of positivity on this page, so the tack I am taking on repeated changes to Stephen Colbert's Amateur Comedy Contest is:

Good news! If you were concerned that you would not be able to attend the final cut and showcase for this performance, today I have received word that the Dante's show on the 16th at 7:30 will only cut two comics, and the FINAL FINAL FINAL show between the final three will occur EDIT the first week of June at a venue to be named later! Oh my, this is the hardest I've ever worked to not win something, ever! The sets are getting tighter, the comedy's getting sharper, these shows are a lot of fun, and also there's always the possibility someone will throw up from nerves. Please come.

If you didn't make it to Grand Theft Pizza Party at Ash Street last night, you can listen to how fun it was here. You've gotta check this show out next month, June 20, back at Ash Street- It's a really fun variety of things, with stand-up, sketch comedy, and movies. Hooray!

A nice feature last night was that I got to meet the man behind the mask of the Famous Mysterious Actor- when I shook his hand and heard the voice that reminds me to fear skele-tons and not to trust ninjas, I felt like I was meeting comedy Batman, but without the crime-fighting accessory belt.

The Return of the Prodigal Famous?

So, after a busy weekend of karaoke, drinking, and baby visiting, I was settling in on a rainy Sunday night to suck the sap from Comcast: On Demand, and was shocked and amazed to find a program titled "(Not Even Close To) The Best of The Famous Mysterious Actor Show." Further internet research reveals that Famous is starting up again on Comcast 14, with a program airing at 11PM on Saturday the 25th, and he is taping shows with Super Atomic Television at the far-flung but glamorous Red Room on 82nd and Russell on Wednesdays. Also, evidently Famous is obsessed with, and will kick your ass at, Guitar Hero. Naturally, since I am a huge fan, friends of friends of the show, and am on the email distribution list, I hadn't heard crap about any of this.
If someone has more information than that, please write me. Oh, and I stole the picture from my friend Andy. NYAH!

Postscript: I had the pleasure of meeting the illustrious Chris Formerly Known as Intern Chris at the Saturday gig at Nine Muses, and he told me he didn't think that Team Famous was making whole episodes, but that they would be taping segments to insert into Super Atomic Television programs.

More Postscript: I had the unique honor of making the acquaintance of Famous producer J.D. Fisher recently, and he confirmed rumors that Team Famous will be moving on to "another" project. I don't think he saw me crying, because I sprayed Mace in his eyes and ran away.
